DaBlock hosted its Pre-launch Networking Social in downtown Portland at Black-owned event space PDX Suite Spot. DaBlock brought together PDX Black community members and local Black Realtor/ Brokers, Black Mortgage Lenders, Black Appraisers, Black Title/Escrow Company, Black Interior Designers etc for a night of celebration of power and connections.Â
With Co-Curators Rooted.Black Inc, DaBlock hosted a highly interactive panel of respected and accomplished Black Real Estate Professionals: Chris Gwen III, Tinisha Williams, Marquis Malcom, Jewels Robinson, and Melvin Broadous.Â
DaBlock mission is to provide Black service providers and businesses the opportunity to connect with and make quality business transactions. Therefore, DaBlock highlighted some of Portland’s local Black artist’s paintings which created space for their exposure but also the opportunity to sell their art to people who respect not only the art but also the creator of it. The featured artists were: Shade, Emmanuel “Manny” Dempsey, Precious, Raphael, and Janelle. Artists sold work, great connections and information were distributed to the community. It was a success!
A very special thank you to the event caterer, Dauvia Dean. In addition to all of the friends, family, and volunteers who helped make this event a success.Â
From your host:Â
For all of the people I was able to physically meet and others whom I was not, I did want to personally say thank you for being part of the birthing of this faith-driven initiative.Â
DaBlocks looks forward to seeing you at our next event.Â
